Investment Strategies Program

Southern Alberta [change]

The Investment Strategies Program (ISP) is a learning opportunity for Grade 10-12 students to explore the ways in which people save and invest for their future. The program includes interactive lessons and culminates in an online stock market simulation, called Invest JA, where students manage their own simulated stock portfolio. The simulation is linked to live data from North American stock markets and is an engaging opportunity for students to apply the investing principles taught in the program.

The Investment Strategies Program is one of a series of programs offered by Junior Achievement of Canada. Click here to view all JA programs in Canada

Depending on the province, ISP is available to Canadian classrooms in one of two delivery methods:

  • ISP Student-Led Do you want to participate in ISP but your class is not registered? You can now join ISP Student-Led at JA Digital Campus! You will receive your login and password for investja.org to compete in the Canada-wide competition after completing lessons 1-4 found on the Digital Campus. Register today at www.jacampus.org.
  • ISP Virtual where the teacher facilitates the program and is supported via a series of online videos of ISP volunteers. The videos support the teacher as the class works through the lessons and activities. This approach also includes the resources needed for the class to participate in the Invest JA stock market simulation. Watch the introduction video

Teachers - We will be disabling the RANKINGS page for the trial game as students can trade outside market hours and this will skew the results. Starting Monday May 6, the rankings will be up so you can sort your schools and teams.

Teachers - Reminder: please don't use students last name as their team name. First names and last name initial is fine.
